Samartex Wins Gold Award

A Gold Award was conferred on Samartex Timber & Plywood Company Limited at the 2nd Ghana Business and Financial Excellence Awards Ceremony held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on 16th December 2009 organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The theme of the ceremony was “Promoting Ghana’s Economic Development”
Samartex Timber & Plywood Company has since 2004 contributed 267,316 Ghana Cedis towards the socio-economic development of the Aowin Suaman and Wasa Amenfi Traditional Areas. The company has also supported the construction of a Health Assistant Training School at Asankrangwa to the tune of 31,000 Ghana Cedis and provides direct and indirect employment to over 6500 people.
The Minister of Trade & Industry, Hon. Hanna S. Tetteh commended the company for its immense contribution towards the promotion of economic development in its operational areas and beyond.
The award was received on behalf of the company by Richard Nsenkyire, General Manager and Peter Damuah, Human Resource Manager of the company.
